Not sure where to put this, but I slapped it in technical. If it needs to move, please move it. :)

Anyway, I've been playing around and designing a new flag for my nation. I've noticed that the limitations on created flags are 107x71 and 10kb, jpg only file.

This is the flag I have created:

It's about 22kb, but if I drop it down to less than 10kb (0 quality jpg, basically), it becomes this horrible blob of color and I can't even tell what it is anymore.

Any ideas or suggestions?

sort of a clarification: since it is just blocks of colours basically, and not a picture, the gif is the best choice for a flag such as this

Your flag must be:

1. in JPEG (.jpg) format

err... has it changed recently..? I use a gif for my flag...... maybe it just says jpg but accepts others as well

You can substitute .gif for .jpg on NS. It may not say it, but I've heard of several nations doing it as well as myself having done it with puppets.

Mine is jpg and really detailed.. i used fireworks and it is really good coz you give it the size you want and it makes it fit even tho it is detailed.. check out my flag if u have time.. it rox!

you can get a bigger flag by reducing the amount of colors in the flag. Also don't make many complicated paterns. I did it like this and got a reasonable flag.
