UN Proposal Idea

I've noticed that when a UN proposal is deleted, the nation tend's to ask why, and in many cases (not all) complain saying the Moderators have got it wrong.

So, here's my suggestion. If a UN proposal is deleted by a Moderator, then a brief note is made on a whole new page as to why it was. Nations can check the reason why their proposal was taken out, if it doesn't appear there, then it can be assumed that the proposal just didn't reach the UN vote and died naturally.

Hopefully this way, it will reduce the amount of questions that appear in "Moderation", and pressumably a large amount of "Getting Help" requests, therefor cutting down some of the large amount of moddy work, Mod's do.

As I'm not sure how many Getting Help requests Mod's receive,
and I know there's usually several in "Moderation", I feel this may help out alot.

Erm...thoughts?

what about an automated tg that the site sends when a proposal dies off natraly, if you dont get it then you might want to ask the mods

Because other people will want to know to.
I like the original idea.

I think a telegram at least saying that your UN proposal has been taken off the list before the update wipes it out is more feasible than creating a whole new page.

The moderators are busy enough without having to go and post something on a new page just so someone who didn't read the FAQs or rules on what they can and cannot submit... which, let's face it, most of the ones that get removed are in fact rule violating proposals.

An automated telegram, much like the one the UN sends out when multis are ejected, is a much better idea in this case than a new page. If a nation is so concerned after the telegram, then, they can post a thread in Moderation and find out; after all, that's what it's for.

That's what I'm getting at, most people complain they aren't violating rules, and the whole idea is designed to take time OFF the Moderators work. I did toy with the idea of a TM, but thought that would take longer than perhaps ticking a box categorising the removed proposal.

If a proposal was removed for being in the wrong category, then when deleting, the box saying something like "Delete for being in wrong category." That loads automatically into the new page. Perhaps an automated TM as stated before, could work in the same way instead of manually sending it, which let's face it, takes longer.

they can post a thread in Moderation and find out; after all, that's what it's for. Moderation is primarily for forum requests, not in-game requests. ;)

I believe it was Hack that said somewhere in the tech forum that when he deletes a proposal, he sends a TG to the nation that proposed it that it was deleted, and then they get an X on their account... and when he does not send a TG, he usually doesn't put the X on their account...

of course I am most likely misquoting very badly, so don't go by what I say

No, you've pretty much got it Kwas. There's even those exceptionally rare events where I'll delete a proposal, send a telegram and say "No offical warning has been added". I can't think of any examples, but I've done that a couple times.

The problem with the separate page idea is that it would mean even more work for me. It's really pretty simple to write a quick note in the telegram box for a nation, having to go to a whole other page would be a pain, and likely require massive recoding of the Centre. Also, when the list gets to 30 or 40 pages, I only warn for the grossest violations to try and save time. When you've got a hundred bad proposals to delete, shaving off a few seconds really helps; being tossed to another page would really slow things down.

An automated system to send a telegram when a Proposal fails to get enough votes is probably a lot easier to do, and thus more likely.

Aye, well I'm suggesting either. What are the chances of it happening, auto-mated TM style?

I feel this would be beneficial to players and Mod's.

I have a question relating to this. I'd rather post it here than create a whole new thread.

Is it illegal to submit a UN proposal when there is already a very similar one in the proposal list? Also, is it legal to submit the same proposal over and over again each time it doesn't reach quota?

This should have been posted in Moderation.

Anyhoo;

Is it illegal to submit a UN proposal when there is already a very similar one in the proposal list?

It is allowed, providing it's beneficial, though it'll be bad form if you copy the other proposal word for word, minus one sentence or whatever.

Also, is it legal to submit the same proposal over and over again each time it doesn't reach quota?

It's allowed. "Haebus Corpus" or something like that was entered by Enn several times.
