for a custom flag to be deleted from memory?

I had a custom flag, and now I changed my flag to one of the defaults, but now
I want to put a NEW custom flag, but the old custom flag still stays there... so how long if ever does it take to blank the old custom flag :( :confused:

Which is clearing the cache.

One thing I've noticed using Firefox, just hitting refresh hasn't brought up the new flag file. I've had to clear the cache and then hit refresh.
