You can get your password back by clicking on the "Forgot Your Password?" link when you try to log in.

BTW: I don't know why they don't ask for your old password when changing.

Reason #90552 to not have your nation set to auto-login, and to be careful about accessing it from public computers.

Fortunately, the computers in the public labs at my university automatically delete the cookies and anything that has been uploaded each time they restart or shut down, so that's not really a problem. Of course, I don't have my passwords written down anywhere either, which helps.

Btw if that person would have changed my email as well i'd have no chance to recover my nation.Think about it...

Oh, well, that's your fault not NationStates fault; you should take care to make sure nobody else can log into your nation. Period. That's not anyone in this game's fault but your own.

Placing blame on the victim doesn't help, IMHO. Mistakes happen.

A good point was raised here: it would be more difficult for people to steal someone elses nation when altering the password (and I'll add to that: email) would require typing in the old password. This is a basic measure which increases the security in using the NationStates system, and as such I'm in favor of such a modification.
