To the webmasters/techies/geeks:
First, thank you for a great and intriguing website.
I would like to make a suggestion that has perhaps been considered in the past. I am new to this place, so forgive me if what I suggest has been discussed already. I searched through the archives and didn't find anything.
My suggestion is this: That we be permitted to customize our nations further than what is already allowed.
From what I've seen, we are able to name a few variables: currency, animal, name, flag, and not much else. I would like to be able to "personalize" my nation further. This would have no real affect on game play, but would allow for players to express themselves a little further.
I suggest we add a few more variables to the list, things like:
Capital City
Title of the Head of State
Name of the Head of State (not necessarily the real name of the player, but could be)
Primary Industries
Primary Exports
Primary Imports
Climate
Geography
Some of these things could be information one just types in, others could be menus from which one chooses.
Another nice item would be a space for a Constitution. Once again, this wold have no practical effect on game play, but it would be something that interested nations could see to get an idea of what another nation is like. It might be just a field of text with a certain maximum size.
The main reason I thought of this is that my nation lists "furniture exports" as one of its main industries. Frankly, I'd rather be an exporter of something cool, like rocket fuel or toasters. It also once suggested that I had a thriving agricultural economy, or something like that; since I always envisioned my nation in a polar wasteland, that's a little incongruous.
I don't know enough to say whether this would be a major or minor change, but if it's doable I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
Once again, thanks for the great website!
