"Regional UN" [suggestion]

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think it would be fun to implement practically the same scripts used for the UN at a regional level to create basically something comparable to the European Union, OPEC, the Organisation of African Unity etc. Regions can then decide better on common rules, creating more of a unity (and sense) to having a region.

Matters brought up within such a "regional UN" would process much faster then the current UN, which with 1000s of nations just takes very long AND it would increase interaction between nations. Ideas for issues that can be brought up within a regional UN would be things like a monetary union and other laws that create more regional unity.

I'd suggest that this would only be possible for regions of a particular size (like minimum 20 or 50 nations) and that upon launch (by the region founder or a UN delegate) the first issue would be if the memberstates actually want such a union. Options for the founder would be:
- Name (default that of the region)
- Prefix (Union of... Organisation of... United States of...)
- Logo/flag (Custom or that of the EU, OPEC, OESO etc)
Most of the rest of the setup would be just that of the current UN.

You are free to start your own RolePlay group, as this will prolly not be incorporated into the game.

Its more because of "realism" and game expansion/enjoyment really then for RP, as it has not much more Role Play then already in nationstates. A lot can already be arranged via regional telegrams and such at the moment, but that's not really the same.

My reason to suggest this is basically to have more of a reason to move to a particular region, or actually more of a reason to have regions at all. Another is that with the growth of nationstates since its start there has been a tremendous increase in the amount of nations, almost making the UN too large a body to still do an aweful lot with.

On the matter of coding it would seem to me just a case of creative copy/pasting of what's already in the code.

We aren't doing it. And it is never as easy as copy/paste.
