BratislavaSlovakia - Capitalist Paradise

The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!! I have been supporting business all the time and such stupidity shows up. What's wrong with the game system??? Please, fix!

That is not from the game. That is how you answered one of your issues.

Actually, could you be so nice to READ before posting! This is from the game, this is not regarding the issues. The thing you do not know this does not surprise me, but at least please do not answer if you are not competent. Thanks. Any admin here?

Well, pardon me. I've been here for MUCH longer than you. That comes from the way you answer an issue.

LE is correct in this. Your choice on an issue or the calibration carried out by the Nation Creation Questionaire resulted in a string of values resulting in that line. Just keep playing, in a few issues it'll go off the page, and you can always choose a different way next time ... A single issue can change your economy values, just got to be careful I guess, ;)

The issues are meant to be a bit wacky, as is this game, you see ? :)

...

And please, when people try to help you, try to be a little bit more positive in your response, more often then not some one who replies to you will know what they are talking about. It does help to be at least nice about it you know.

The whole point of this game is to dive into the extremes of government, as complimented by what Jennifer Government (the book this game promotes) is about. Hence, your issue choices - which is the case here, take it from us who have been here for awhile - are extreme solutions to everyday problems.

OK, thanks.

I was not trying to be rude, but it what I meant was this had not been related directly to the issue, but rather likely to serie of issues.

Thanks.

I understand where you're coming from. I believe my nation has the same description and I cannot trace the result of it to anything in particular. I just have to rely on the words from the FAQ.

Isn't this "simulation" biased towards your politics?

Very possibly. Not intentionally, though. And since there's no ultimate measure of success or failure in NationStates, any bias shouldn't affect much. For example, you don't win the game by having the strongest economy. It just means your nation has a strong economy.

Why is my nation so weird?

Everything is exaggerated a little. Well, okay, a lot. Your decisions affect your nation very strongly, so your country might seem like a more extreme version of what you were aiming for. Unless you have radical politics. In which case you probably think nothing's wrong.

My decision had unintended consequences!

Yep, that'll happen. For one thing, see "Why is my nation so weird?" above. For another, pretty much every decision you make will involve a trade-off of some kind. It's kind of an exercise in choosing the best of a bunch of bad options. You might find this frustrating, especially if you're the kind of person who thinks the solutions to all the world's problems are obvious.

Did you ban capitalism and free trade?

Yes I myself have been subjected to this because I forgot that things are blown out of proportion on the issues. I allowed the miners to mine a "portion" of my rain forests and now I am plagued with widespread deforestation and my national animal is on the brink of extinction.... in real life this would be fixable by an enforcement of the "portion" (and because I am a dictator) but in the "game" I just have to wait till an issue pops up that I can hopefully fix it or reverse my bad decision. :headbang:
