A very good friend of mine created a nation name
he led it die after 28 days, he loves politics
but he always told me he is a very busy man
dosent have the time. So he dosent have intrest
or time to follow it.

I tried to create the nations name after 28 days
but it was reserved, so I had to create a name
similar to his but unique but it is not unique should we petition the
support of the Mods and Administration to change the rule?
And do you think we have a chance to succed?

Once a nation dies it should be opened to
other players especially new ones
that may have the same name in mind.

as I said my friend
decided not to stay,
and specially a new player
with the same name in mind
can claim it.

There already is a provision
for putting it on hold, for
vacation or illness.

perhaps my idea could work
with the option to the player
to reserve it indefinetly if they so wish.

I would like your opinios on this last statement.

Special Note to the Mods,
I thought I had made this a public poll
if you can fix it, thank you.

It wquld also be intresting to hear
the Mods point of views on this, thank you.

I don't think you even need the password. I think they verify through your e-mail address

You need the password to log into the resurrected nation, it stays the same as it was before it was deleted. If it's resurrected and you don't have the pass you can't log in and it'll just be deleted in another 28 days.

Honestly, who gives a shit?

Let's take a look at the kind of person that really cares about this. They:
(a)are hellbent on having a certain NationState name,
(b)are not creative enough to come up with a name that no one has used before
(c)have the time to petition an online game site to change its entire structure because of a silly whim
(d)actually use that time to petition the site for the aforementioned

Should this even be an issue?

Yeah, we should be able to use dead nations' names, as long as it is noted somewhere in our profile that we and the 1st nation w/that name are not hte same
Havaii

it think it was creative, I could have come up
with the same name if I was going to create a nation
based on his idea for the nation.

We happen to share the same intrest.

I am really serious about this petition idea,
any ideas how I can start one.
If we win we win, if we loose we loose.
anyone is welcomed to telegram me on this.

This has been stated before, but it's worth repeating.

We do not, at this time, have any plans to change this.

1) A nation's name is its identity.
2) It has certain connotations based on how it was played before.
3) People do ask us to resurrect nations.
4) It would cause confusion.

Of course it should be open to reuse dead/banned nation names. The most comic/nicest names are since long not anymore available. Guess it is not a question of technology but of lazyness of NS.

Could an owner of a nation be allowed to kill it if not intending to come back, thus freeing up the name again?

Of course. Of the dozen of us that are actually active, who volunteer to keep 120,000 nations in line and a forum which averages several thousand posts a day, we are all lazy.

I keep trying to make this a public poll,
If the mods cant fix it, I understand,
I wont try again enough its enough.
it is on the general forum and on technical
and I still dont have a public poll,
but I understand, thank you.

any ideas on how I can start a petition,
anyone is welcomed to telegram me,
and will work out the language.

What have we got to loose,
if we win we win, if we loose we loose.
Thats how democracy works, lets put
our mouths were our foot is.
I suggest a public poll and majority wins or looses.

Actually, there should be a tick box on signup (or in Settings) with something like I agree when this nation dies, that, after X amount of time, the name can be "recycled" for use by a new nation. The X time is for the player to change their mind. If they don't tick the box, the name never gets recycled.

Thus, retired players can keep their reputation intact and those who had no time to login (loss of Internet, say) has a few months to get their nation back.

And, of course, the Mods can choose, for rule violators, to ensure this name recycling never happens again.

It should definatly stay the way it is. Even with a petion, the mods and admins have said time and time again that this is not going to change because nations may come back after months/years of inactivity. What if your three, four billon nation gets deleted due to inactity and you come back in a few months to see some newb using the name? What if he's saying that he's you? How would you feel? Just think about that situation. You've played this game for years and have built a reputation and all that and then you get screwed over...

What are the mods supposed to do when the original owner comes back and requests his nation back? Tell him to go and start over with a new nation? Why do people not think about this if they were the original nation and someone was using their name?

It'd be a lot easier if the forums werent inexoribly linked to the countries.

You might as well stop wasting your posts, allowing deleted names beack into the game is never going to happen.

Personally, if my nation ever died, I wouldn't want someone coming back with my nation, and doing things that I would never do. The same goes for the majority of the people out there, with intentions on coming back, like my good friend Morathania (which I hope comes back...).

The fact that someone could come back, claiming to be "Nation A" would ruin said nation, because they don't know any of the specifics of what the nation initially went through, and what kind of effect it had on the NS world.
