Bug?

Petsburg
23-11-2004, 21:10
The capital of Petsburg has burned to the ground and caused riots throughout the country, senior citizens are often found slaving away in factories, students are known to arrive at school in their pyjamas, and movies and computer games are strictly censored for violence. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Petsburg's national animal is the Pug, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Pugish Gold Piece.

Petsburg is ranked 2nd in the region and 1,973rd in the world for Most Rebellious Youth.

How can i be ranked 1973 in the world when crime is totally unknown?

Another contradiction caused by the basic way these statistics are stored.

The same thing happened to me. Its just a small problem, and I highly doubt that it will be fixed.

I wouldn't consider "rebellious youth" to be a crime.

Rebellious does not equal rebellion. Rebellious is unrest. Further, although it's not likely, there can be peaceful rebellions. Mahatma Ghandi got the British out of India without ever taking up arms.

It is not always the act, that makes it a crime. Very often it is the law, that makes it a crime. In other words; If there is no law against it, it is most probably not a crime. Your youth is very rebellious, but since there is no law against being rebellious, crime is totally unknown. That is called "progressive social policies".

I think this description of my nation is a more obvious example of a bug...

The Colony of HadleysHope is a tiny, devout nation, notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 6 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 20%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry.

Elections have been outlawed and high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate. Crime is well under control. HadleysHope's national animal is the xenomorph, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.

HadleysHope is ranked 22nd in the region and 84,174th in the world for Largest Pizza Delivery Sector.

The first bit is when you first created your nation; the question "Without democracy, a country has nothing" generates that bit. the second comes from you answering issues.
