Whenever I try to type something in Japanese on my motto, or in my region's civil headquarters, a message in red shows up saying something about preventing spamming and that a word is too long. For whatever reason, Korean does not have this problem. Is there anything I can do to make Japanese characters appear in these places?

I have tried it, and it turns into a whole bunch of numbers, which are on a very long string. I guess that is the problem.

What nation or region uses Korean? I'd like to see that for myself. I know the Nation and Region name must be in the standard American alphabet, but there is more latitude for the motto, and I assume the Factbook entry too.

There's no such thing as an "American alphabet". Silly Americans!
