Hey people my current stats are
Civil Rights: Excellent
Economy: Powerhouse
Political Freedoms: Unheard of

Surely this classes me as a benevolent dictatorship however i am a father knows best state

Anyone know whats wrong coz i seen other nations with very similar stats who are benevolent dictatorships

A very small issue choice could be keeping you from a benevolent dictatorship. I couldn't tell you what in your case.

The political map project is gone... But basically...

There are eighteen categories. I can't remember what they all are anymore, but they're calculated based on...

1 Civil Rights ranking
2 Political Freedoms ranking
3 Economic Freedoms ranking

That's absolutely correct. A third category which you can't see, Economic Freedoms. Don't ask me how that works or how to change it, but I believe it's the Economic Freedoms that's keeping you the way you are.

To be a Benevolent Dictatorship, you probably need higher economic freedoms. Lower taxes, decrease government spending, eliminate the minimum wage and remove laws restricting business operations. Those are your best bets.

...

3×3×3=27 categories. Besides that, you are correct (though I'm not sure which he needs to fix, I don't have my tables with me).

It's just that they had the right combinations of issue choices and initial nation creation questionaire to get there, that's all.

This chart?

As for the question of why some people are some things while others aren't, it's a lot more complicated than some hidden "Economic Freedoms" ranking. There's a lot of different "things" that can alter your UN Category. For instance, I went from Capitalizt to Anarchy back to Capitalizt over the span of a few weeks, without a single change to CR, E, PF or taxes. The UN Categories are really quite complex, and don't quite line up with the above chart. The chart is good to tell where you want to go, in general, but they are not a hard rule.

Hack, you're a genius! :D

It's not the original one that's in the Archives, but it gives a nice general idea of what's with the UN categories. Have fun!

I seen that b4 and thats how i figured i shud b a benevolent ductatorship already. But if there's a number of other factors i'll just make choices which i think are benvolent dictatorshipish

In my experiance you need to have at least "superb" in civil rights to get to the top level on that chart. Also, while the values for civil rights and political freedoms are pretty close to the underlying variables that govern where you stand on the chart (x and z axis), the value for economy can be vastly different to economic freedoms (y axis). For example, In the past I've managed to get an Authoritarian Democracy with a frightening economy, without even realy trying.

I sugest If you want to get a Benevolent Dictatorship you should increase your civil rights a bit and then answer any issues with the pro-business choice (If it has one). Lowering your tax rate would probably help as well but it's not mandatory.
