If endorsements aren't going to count at update, at least make it so they won't show! Please!

This getting very frustrating, you think you got the numbers, but then you lose half of them at update and lose!

Now I know you don't want to change it back the way it was, so we can defend/invade/liberate several regions in one update (already restricting our fun), but at least make it so I can see how much endorsements we have for real.

Although you'll probably just ignore this thread like you did with my last one... :(

I kinda like the invisible votes. It keeps one hoping for miracles. That way the battle ain't over, until the update has passed.

I would appreciate a clarification of this "one vote per UN update" rule.

Turned out my UN nation forgot to unendorse another nation even the two of us had left that other region -- and that endorsement was retained even though I had made a new one this evening...

CG, if I had thought it would be easy enough to implement I would've suggested that weeks ago. If my understanding is correct, that functionality should be a nightmare to implement.

What it means is that each nation only participates in the update once. So if a nation moves to another region while the update is still running, it'll be regarded as if it wasn't in the region when that second region is updated. This also means all endorsements given to nations for whom that regional update is their first in the update cycle will be dropped, and that the nation which moved isn't being considered for the delegate position. It's a complication for invader/defense play as the number of endorsements shown isn't what will be calculated when the update hits the region being fought over. Some endorsements may drop, the defense or invader lead may not even be considered for delegacy. This hurts defenders much more than invaders, simply because invaders are always the first ones to make it into the region (and hence out of whatever is their prior region).

Wich means that we finally can stop listening on whinings from invaders that its much "harder" to invade than defend. Good.

Actually, I need to work on this. We're planning on removing the one UN vote per update. It opens it up to exploitation, but we're going to wait and see if it is a real problem.

I just need the time to do it.

Attempting to bribe NationStates Administrators or Moderators with intimate contact, or promises thereof, is a violation of NationStates rules. Cease-and-desist immediately or you will be... uhhh... smacked in the face with a lemon merengue pie.

I honestly don't beleive this rule should be implemented. It would make the scale too sloped for defenders. The game is about even right now, and allowing them to do this would seriously give them a major advantage. They do not need this to win, or to be fair, because they have plenty of things going for them, this is one of our best ones.

Allowing them to move throughout regions and have multiple UN endorsements will make strategy useless seeing as even if we plan multiple invasions so we can make our smaller numbers count for more, they can just move from one to the other. The rules were changed to keep people from gaining population, but this is a good side-affect.

I have noticed the invasions are being more even, and this is good, defenders can still liberate, we are just forcing them to try for once. Please consider that this is as close to even as its ever been. Please don't change this...

This has already been stopped by the introduction of a randomized update sequence. The objection raised to the one-update rule is that it causes seemingly random endorsements to drop at update time.
