Endorsement tie

In the event of a tie for the number of endorsements, how does the delegate get picked? I never researched this before, and someone had asked me this question, and I did not know the real answer. Does it have something to do with standing before the region had reset?

The Delegate is either the incumbent Delegate, or, if there is no incumbent, the nation that has been in the region for the longest.

He speaks the truth about the incumberant part. Ties go to the existing delegate.

I don't know wether or not it goes to the longest established if there is no delegate so I don't know if this bug has been fixed but the last time delegacy was tied in the Middle East (and I was one of the people tied) the delegacy kept alternating between the nations - chaning many times over the course of each day. Neither of us were in power long enough to even get acess to the delegate powers and it wasn't resolved until someone else endorsed the other guy making them delegate.

That would make sense, tie goes to incumbant. The other one, I think I had seen that behaviour once before, too. Don't recall where it was, tho, but that was well over a year ago, I might add.

The Delegate is either the incumbent Delegate, or, if there is no incumbent, the nation that has been in the region for the longest.

Incumbent wins a tie, true.

When there is no incumbent in the tie, the qualifier above is how it was resolved at some point. I've seen it resolve differently since then though, so the implementation must've changed. Right now I'm thinking it's 'database order', as in my experience in one group of nations the same one always wins a tie regardless of other factors (like XML order, UN ranking, name, etc...) At least, that's the way it was last time I checked.

Database Order? Is that like age of the nation? I'll have to look into this one.

Sorry for dreging up an old thread but in the Sticky: The New Tech [and Mod] Forum FAQ (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=382519) it saysWhat happens when there is a tie for the UN delegate position?
Depending on the situation, the game uses one of two proccesses to determine who the new UN delegate will be.
1) If the current UN delegate is one of the people involved in the tie, then they retain delegateship. You have to beat the current delegate to become delegate of a region.
2) If the current UN delegate is not involved in the tie (or there is no current delegate) then whichever nation has been in the region longest will win the tie. Right now I'm thinking it's 'database order', as in my experience in one group of nations the same one always wins a tie regardless of other factors (like XML order, UN ranking, name, etc...). In the region of Hawaii, Bohunova recently became the delegate. The Green Land has the same number of endorsements and has been in the region longer which appears to support Ballotonia's position that the selection of a delegate in a tie is database (or alphabetical?). Could a someone verify this and make corrections to the stickie if Ballotonia is correct?

Thanks.

we tried it out..

it used to be the one longest in the region, but then suddenly it was changed (iirc it was with the jolt move) we tried it again with some friends, and the same friend got delegacy each time...
