strange differences

hi.

I have 2 nations. the first one (#1), I run by my rules, in the second one (#2), I answer the issues how I think people from around here (IRL) would have answered.

the obvious difference is that #2 has the title "World Benchmark" when it comes to political freedoms, instead of "Outlawed". :)

what's bugging me, are these variances:
#1: brink of extinction, "hard-working, cynical population" and the private sector is lead by the Pizza Delivery industry and Soda Sales.
#2: frolics freely, "compassionate, intelligent population" and the private sector is lead by Automobile Manufacturing industry and IT.

I agree that in #1 "hard-working, cynical population" is correct, but how come nation #2 has a "compassionate, intelligent population"? I haven't answered any issues yet, that would determine such a thing.
also, the forest issues were in those states from the beginning. is that randomly decided, or are a nations forests lush just because of the democracy? sounds strange..
why are the private sectors so different in the 2 nations? one could almost think that where the political freedoms are high, people are automatically smarter than other, which leads to this gap.. or is this randomly selected too?

yes, I have answered quite a few issues in both nations, but none of them had anything to do with these "problems". I'd really like to know more.

thanks in advance.

I believe that the "hard-working, cynical population" and "compassionate, intelligent population" come from your nation type, ie "New York Times Democracy"

As to the trees, that's just your environment. It's always about trees, and it documents your stance on the environment. And the environment is decided initially as your response to the questions, and later on in response to issues.

And for the private sectors....I haven't figured that out yet except it's mainly in response to your decisions on issues.

You might get more responses in the Gameplay forum, or maybe even in the General forum. The technical forum is usually for bugs.

Umm what about the 8 questions you answered when creating the nation? And choosing government style? So yes you HAVE determined this. Also your people temperment is based on how you answer, not what you say. You really think polical leaders are faced with "The people come to you asking how to act should they be A) Cynical, B) Compassionate or C) Inteligent?". Your people will change with your decissions but you don't directly choose their temperment.

Yes its always forests. If you in the inital questions said corperations do more harm than good then your envioment will be good. If you supported industry with your issues then your envioment will be bad.

To an extent the sectors are randomised. More fairly they are based on factors that are not immediatly apparent. HOWEVER certain issues allow you to support certain industries (says the nation with the imploded economy :P). Namely these are Automobiles, IT and Gambling. By specifically supporting them when they come up they become your leading industry. Otherwise expect some wacky stuff like "domiated by cheese exports", "slick and effecient black market in retail" (lol hey mister wanna buy a house? :P)

Well what an issue claims to do and what it does are two different things. Allow people to mine for uranium, and suddenly all your forests are burned down and turned into an inhospitable wasteland! Prepare yourself for a characturised effect.
