How can a country have a 100% income tax and still have a strong economy? Is this a glitch?

They could derive income from other sources, like tariffs and extortion (tribute).

Sales tax, estate tax, luxury tax, dividend tax, alcohol tax, tobacco tax, drug tax, capital gains tax, gasoline tax, excise tax, water tax, electricity tax, natural gas tax...

There's plenty of taxes aside from just income tax.

1.) Corporate welfare improves the companies' ability to operate and produce goods.

2.) Social welfare puts more money in the hands of those who will go out and buy what they need rather than those leaving their money stagnant in bank accounts with huge numbers of zeros.

That sort of thing tends to improve the economy. Socialism is basically capitalism on government assistance.

If you're lucky! j/k

Seriously though, while not in favor of those policies myself, I tend to think it can work in the real word, given the appropriate conditions.

Of course, even then there are drawbacks, but every economic system has drawbacks.

hi.

I just noticed that my income tax rate increased by 2 percentage units since the last issue. the "result" of the issue was: the government spends millions of berrys every year prosecuting spammers.

but.. if the government prosecutes spammers and wins, it should go plus when it comes to money, that way the extra taxes are not needed. why did the income tax increase?

besides.. I want the spammers :mp5: , not prosecuted, but that wasn't an option..

if I'd go by my rules, I'd have to dismiss almost all issues. :(

Junipers...

Read everything in the issue, and it might change your views...

I think it would cost some money to prosecute the spammers, although i cant think of any way off the top of my head.

I think to reduce taxes, you have to get a specific "let's get rid of taxes" issue.

If you have a 100% Tax Rate you may receive the 'Purple Tax' Issue which touches on the fact that your tax rate is that high.

I've taken the tax cutting sides on those issues every time, but my income tax is STILL 100%.

I don't know if you've gotten these or not, but I think they were what helped me lower mine a bit. (My tax was never 100% though, and these only changed it a few percentage points at a time -Note: These are just what seemed to change it, they might not all be effective.)

*This one I'm not as certain about, I don't remember if it lowered my taxes or not (but it seems like it would have.)

Don't worry, it can take a while to get off of 100%. I should know as I had that at one time.

Mate, I've been on 100% a year and a half (bar two days at 98% and one at 97%). It takes patience and time.
