It happen sometimes that i write a piece of text (In the World Cup threads) and when i press submit, i am logged out. Result: Post is lost, i can do it all over again.
I try to use notepad as much as i can but i often forget. Can the time available to type (thinks it the time you are 'inactive') be made longer.
Its annoying to lose an entire post and i know i'm not the only one who has lost posts that way.

You should be able to get it back by simply pressing the back button on your browser. Just simply paste it in a post it.

Press the back button ... and you are asked to log in. When you log in, everything you wrote is gone.

If you used the Preview Post button from time to time while composing, the system would probably remember you.

Simple solution: Before you click the Submit button, hit Crtl-A to highlight your post, and Ctrl-C to copy it. If the board logs you off, log back in, go back to the topic, Reply, and Ctrl-V to paste.

Permanent solution: Instead of growling, fix your browser's cache settings to hold on to the information. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, select the General tab, choose Settings, and then check Every time you start Internet Explorer. In Netscape, click Edit, Preferences, double-click Advanced, and click Cache. Set the memory cache to at least 1024KB, and the disk cache to a minimum of 7680KB. Then clear both caches. Note that you may have to click your browser's refresh button to see a revisited page's dynamic data.

When you get a random logoff, click Ctrl-N to open a new browser window. Go to the logon screen and log in as normal. Go back to your original screen, and you will be able to post just like before. I always keep two browser windows open anyway - makes cutting and pasting much easier.
