It has been brought up,and i am sure it has been considered, but the time it would take to rewrite the code to allow it would not be condusive for game play. What you could do is set up a regoinal website like most people have done, and through the regoin create a flag that represents all the nations in your regoin

I don't think it involves a huge amount of coding to make it, though it has been disregarded in the past due to a lack or server space, and the potential of abuse, for example, displaying of illegal (NS Terms) pictures.

Now we are on Jolt, I'm not entirely sure if the server space excuse is a problem anymore, but certainly it being abused is.

As far as coding is concerned, yes, it is very possible to do. But it depends on whether Admin actually WANT this feature, and more to the point, have time to add it in.

This would belong in NS2. It sounds like an idea for game improvement. Since NS isn't being "updated" aside from glitches, I suggest that you take your idea and put it into the NS2 forum where it would have a chance of flying.

You should probably not post this kind of thing in the technical forum. It would probably be better suited in the NationStates 2 forum. Just a suggestion, as you would get more responses there and you would be helping to keep the forums organized.

He is asking for this in NS, not NS2. It would be good in NS 2, but this is an area for NS discussion.

i personally agree with luchia.
Just like we can customize our own flag in Our nation,the leader of a region could customize a flag for his region.All the NS people have to do is leave a space for it like they do in nations flags.Anyway i m sure i must have been considered.

It's not as easy as some people in here are suggesting it is. I'm sure there isn't a lot of coding to make this happen, but surely, its not as simple as 2 + 2. But I must reiterate what others have said, nothing new, of this extent, is going to be added to NS1.

I have suggested this several times, it is Doable but would require soem serious coding on [violet] and Sals part, probably not a major issue, but Hey, mayhaps one day they will get caught up and can do it Imagine the flags of the EP, lol,
I always thought regional flags should be 300x200 and around 12k but heck we are pretty much at that already.

If region flags are added, it will take the the space given out for nations flags, we'd only be able to have like 6k again!

Maybe just automatically fly the founder's flag as the regional flag?

No. That infringes on national sovereignty, something which the mods will not do. All NS players have the right to their own individual flag, designed to define their nation.
