Problems with puppet
Here's my problem:
When I leave my nation idle for anything over about ten minutes NationStates will automatically log me in as a useless puppet, and not tell me about it.
The side bar will still read:
Sydia
Issues
Telegrams
Etc,
Until I click any of the links, e.g. Telegrams, it reverts to the telegrams of said useless puppet.
I also get logged in as my puppet dispite the "Log in automatically?" setting switched firmly to No on the puppet, and Yes on my main nation!
What's going on here? I'm getting sick of having to log off and on again every 10 minutes.
Hm. I've heard of this happening before, and I believe that the verdict was that it is a "cookie" issue-- Are cookies disabled on your browser, or is the security setting really high? That could prevent the computer from remembering what nation you're logged in as.

That's what I thought at first, but cookies are enabled. I've also specifically told my browser (Mozilla Firebox) to accept cookies from NationStates, and I'm still getting this problem.

Go to your main nation's setting's page, deselect "Auto-login" and click "apply". Then select "Auto-login" and click apply.

Did you just make the puppet? Because I've noticed that, 100% of the time, when I make a puppet in Firefox and change the settings to auto-logout, it still logs me in as that puppet every time I open NS. I have to go to Tools/Options/Privacy/Cookies/Stored Cookies and delete the one from www.nationstates.net labeled "auto login" or something similar.
I think this is an issue that needs looking in to, to be perfectly honest.

I was having the same problem with this nation, but clearing out the autologin cookie appears to have fixed it.
I agree that someone should look into this when they get a chance.

At least I've finally figured out my own puppet login problems. Thanks Unfree.

This is because you edited Settings in your puppet nation last. Simply go to the main nation that you wish to be automatically logged in as, go to it's Settings, and save Settings without changing anything. Then close your browser and open up nationstates.net, and it will log you in as the nation you last edited Settings in.
