Who says my nation uses an income tax system? :-/

The game does. There are some issues that may change how the income taxes are issued, but I don't know if there is anything that changes what kind of tax is issued... there are some that will add a tax to purchaces of certain products, like snack foods, but the income tax is still there. I would ask sirocco if there are any that change the tax type.

From my limited knowledge of the game and remembering what I read in other posts like this:

The system has something to do with assigning points to your tax percentages based on the way you deal with issues. So the more you answer issues that raise your taxes, the higher your points go and vice versa for lowering taxes. If you've got a 100% tax rate and have had it for awhile, it'll be harder to get your taxes down.

However, if your "tax points" = 0, you'll get a neato little saying that says "Income taxes are unheard of" in your national spotlight.
