Does being in the UN raise your tax rate?

I don't mean from the resolutions passed (obviously those do).

I mean, just by being in the UN, is a part of your nation's budget automatically diverted by the game engine to pay for dues and stuff?

No, but I kinda like that idea.

No, but I kinda like that idea.

I do, too.

Though, that raises an interesting question: If that element were added to the game, does that mean that resolutions would be required to detail the budgetary requirements for it to be effective.

Hmm...

Just a heads-up for Salusa -

The question came up in this topic authorizing UN funding:

A quick précis - the RL UN assesses dues based on GNP. The percentage is tiny, averaging about .00368%, with less than 200 nations. Consequently, the authors of this proposal included a cap of .005% in the NS UN funding request, based on 30,000+ nations. A billion here, a billion there, it starts to add up.

Since this amount is infinitesimal in the overall scheme of things, I don't think it's necessary to code it (or invalidate the proposal that uses it).
