Regional Districts

I made a UN proposal, thinking we could just "eliminate" regions by region jumping, but then realised that would be "Griefing".
However, the point of this idea is NOT to cause anyone "Grief", but to reduce it.
Let's face it--one nation does NOT a region make.
I think all regions right now with under 4 or 5 nations should automatically be reshuffled.
New regions have 3 days? in which they need to get up to 4 or 5 players.
The glut of 1 nation regions is annoying & makes it a lot harder to see what the serious regions are.
I mean, another way of handling this would be to make it so that the regions can be displayed different ways--i.e. I only want to see regions that have more than 1 member :), or list regions in order by number of members.
I just think 12,000 regions, the majority with only one account, probably needs some reworking...
Allowing "region destroying" would also satisify me :) If UN could move in, take control, and then disband the region it'd be wonderful.

Heh heh... I don't quite think so. Can you imagine the problems the mods would have with griefing if invaders could go in and delete a region? After a week, the number of regions would be down to 5 - The Pacifics, and the Rejected Realms, whose membership would fly out the window. I don't think giving UN members this power would be a good idea. Perhaps a regional founder - but even then I don't think it would be necessary.
If there were a way to sort the region list by members, then that may be of some use, especially to those trying to get a UN proposal passed - the larger regions will generally attract more attention from authors, as their Delegates will have more endorsements and therefore more votes.

Besides which, your UN proposal, "Griefing," in submission is against the rules as it deals with changing game mechanics.

There's nothing wrong with creating a region you want to sit in all by yourself. If you're serious about looking for "decent" regions, there's a lot of threads in Gameplay that can direct you. Or you can make a thread asking about regions.

As for regions who are looking for members...

No no no.
1 person regions are pointless.
They clutter up my screen!!! I am not looking for a new region to join... I don't particularly care that I'm in the North Pacific or wherever.
The thing that bothers me is, seeing all these stupid 1 person regions, with names like,
"000000000000000000"
The only point of that region is to annoy me. That's it. Put it on the table, it's done.
This regions exist purely to be "number one" in the listing, which is about as annoying as it could be.
There are probably only 50 legitimate regions in the whole game at this point.
It just seems against the spirit of the game to sit around making retarded regions named 000000000000 purely in order to be listed first.
Your region name should be SOMEWHAT creative...
Therefore, please, hear my plea! Eliminate these stupid regions!

There are at least 2237 regions that have at least 2 UN members each since that's how many UN delegates there are. So there are more than 50.

Somehow, I really doubt they made that region just for the purpose of annoying you. Since most likely, most of them were made before you even showed up.
Also, If they are cluttering your screen, I have a very simple solution - stop looking at the region list.
And if they really want to be listed first, that is their right. At this point, it would be a little difficult, since we have used up just about all of the "0" names, but even so...
Look, if you really want to get rid of these, go on an invasion campaign, ban everyone from each of those 1-member regions, then leave, and get your self banned in the process. I really doubt the mods are going to code in something to let delegates or founders delete their own regions. If it turns out that a region does need to be deleted, the game will do it automatically, or the mods will handle it. End of story.

If a Founder (NOT Delegate; this is griefing for anybody but the Founder) wants to delete their region, they could simply eject-ban everybody, including themselves, from the region, and then password-protect it. The region would then cease to exist at the next server update.

indeed. it would be pretty useful to have the options of listing all of the regions in the game by size and by age in addition to alphabetically. it would help new players find an active and established region for themselves slightly easier - i found mine pretty much accidentally.
