Problems with logging into the forum

I'm not having problems, obviously, but I've been getting telegrams from a country called Gilabad who is not getting the verification e-mail sent to his address for some reason.

I've tried to think of all the ways I could that might solve the problem and get him logged in, but for some reason, he still is unable to.

Could someone look into it for him so he can log on?

Thanks!

AOL might be blocking our email. Have him double check his filter settings and Junk Mail pile.

Also, have him double check his email to ensure that it is entered correctly.

I just TG'd him with your suggestions verbatim. Hopefully, they will solve the problems.

He's still having problems. Here's the latest TG he sent me:

Do you know how I can contact a moderator to send me an E-mail to confirm my address. I still havent been able to get into the forum.

I don't know if any moderators have the capability to get into another nation's account to see what their address is and send the verification e-mail, but would you please TG or e-mail him?

Thank you for your attention to this.

I TG'd him that information. Hopefully, we'll get closer to a solution.

This was fun..

I have had some problems with logging in and such to the forum. Not with all nations. But with some.

On one I was banned from entering but I got an answer on that, it was an reviwed nation so it was some hassle.

So.. now I was in this nation and I decided to go in.. No hassle.. everything OK. But I decided to take a look on my "login info" and it said this:

Welcome, imported_Greyfox.

Ummm... Nation name isn't imported_Greyfox.. its just Greyfox?
And its fun that NS has exited for since 1970 or before.. that would mean you should celebrate 35 year anniversery soon. :)

If you delve back into the history of the forums, back to Page 1 of the chronologically-ordered topics, you'll find a bunch of topics that lost their datestamp and history before/during/after the move to Jolt. All of them show this same creation date. I'd guess it's the default date of either the OS or the forum software.

You got the imported_ stamp because somebody registered greyfox on Jolt before Nationstates moved in. Oddly enough, Jolt was bright enough to pick up your NS join date of Nov 2003, but lost the rest as it adjusted to your imported status.

Ain't software fun?

The 1970 thing is what's happened when a thread that was chewed up by the old server during posting was dug out during the move. Unix time works by counting from Midnight, 01/01/70, so when the timestamp is missing, it comes out as that.

Wow, Myrth, you really are totally 1337!

He just TG'd me and said he thinks he fixed his problem. Would someone try sending the confirmation e-mail again?

Thanks!

I'm also having a problem logging into the forum directly, and with this very nation. Apparently, Jolt does not recognize my password or my e-mail addresses. (I'm currently trying to make a switch to the newer one.) At first, I didn't recognize the problems, but recently, my computer recently got a problem with auto-logins, so it has a habit of logging out my nation whenever I went from the standard NationStates site to the forum. Therefore, I can sign on with my main nation unless I use a different computer, like what I'm stuck doing right now. I may also want to mention that I do not block email on either account. Also, most of my other nations do seem to get the email sent, but not all. Is there a way that any of these obstacles can be overcome?
