Referendum

Hello.

What would you think of adding the possibility of the game ISSUES to be decided by Referendums?

You as President/Emperor/Premier/Prime Minister/King... may have your personal opinion on each Issue that comes, but you might like to hear what the population has to say and the opinio of the majority. Then you could decide wether to go on the voice of the people or to ignore them.

Is it possible to add this?

It seems that that would require a kind of virtual population...

You could simulate it with an average citizen characterization and then using probabilities calculating which option each citizen (in age to vote) would vote (e.g.: if an average citizen thinks that there shouldn't be death penalty then let us say we calculate a random number from 0-100 and if it hits below, let us say, 15 then he agrees with Death Penalty, otherwise he doesn't).

Altough there are huge countries it's simple mathematics and the calculations would be fast... or use only a sample of the population so that the server or other computer used on this wouldn't be stall...

Of course, if you agreed with the population decision this would affect, for the better, you country.

Yes, that would require a "virtual populaton," so to speak, and would take up a lot more server space and coding techniques to produce proper results for some issue choice.
