of intellectual utopias and contextually impossible issues

I'm finding it hard to create an intellectual utopia of sorts when the game keep steering me towards these very americocentric social issues and things... In a country that already aspires to perfect equality, where everything is controlled by the government and the people are given equally advantageous economic starting conditions, what is the point of bringing up affirmative action at an old, private university as an issue? It is a non issue. The state of affairs is such that it doesn't and shouldn't come up at all. Furthermore, I keep outlawing fascism and still there are people who give me these überconservative options... There should be no private universities and people should not be divided on racial lines; those who are closet bigots and racist would be afraid to voice their opinions for fear of meeting their maker.

Bah! Yarbles! :headbang: I hate smileys!

Because we don't have the time to code issues that are specifically relevent to your nation?

That's true. The mods slave over a phenomanol amount of issues!

Excuses! Excuses! No, but seriously, it shouldn't be too complicated to account for whether a question would be applicable to a given country, considering its place on so many spectra (civil, economic, political, etc). Or it could just be relevant to the UN standing of a country.

And what of those nations of a communist nature?

where each factory, school etc. has sole authority over it's policies.

This makes agreeing, or disagreeing with issues very difficult.

We already do that, however there's only so much coding that can, or will, be done. As an example, my nation is in no place to get 'Economic Collapse Looms!', much like a nation that has systematically destroyed its Information Technology sector will not receive the issue about artificial intelligences seeking citizenship. While we limit certain options on issues, we can't know how you view your nation, just your general stats.

Civil Rights: World Benchmark
Economy: Reasonable
Political Freedoms: FewCivil Rights: Superb
Economy: Frightening
Political Freedoms: Excellent

As you can see, our Civil Rights ratings are only slightly different (one or two ranks, I believe). You, however, are a Libertarian Police State, and I'm Capitalizt, which implies a great political divide. Indeed, two nations can show the exact same CR, E, & PF and still have different classifications.

Finally, while you say you've outlawed fascism, your Civil Rights ratings mean that people should still be free to espouse any political belief they want. One could even argue that you haven't outlawed fascism, given your freedoms.

Basically, the point is: while we limit who can receive what issues, we only go so far, due to coding and practicality concerns. However, if you find an issue that is just too odious based on how you view your nation, feel free to dismiss it. I do all the time.

Well, I take facism to be a psychological disorder myself, a state of mind, as it were. I encourage discourse, and disobedience, but just as long as it is constructive and not retrogressive.... ¬ ¬
