Option #2 for TG notification, from Erastide

On the topic where I had my main idea for TG notification, which involved pop-ups, Erastide posted this idea, which invloves much less work on the mod's part, and is more practical.

Erastide said that the mods could write in a code which would display the total number of messages you had next to the "Telegrams" link. This way, you would know at all times how many messages you had, and if you had a new one or not.

Please vote in the poll above, and post you opinion below.

That link should work.

I like that idea. It couldn't be that hard to code.

N.B. The mods don't add code to the game, only the admins

Thanks.

And I know the mods don't do it, but it's easier to type than admins. ;)

So far, the vote is unanimous: 4 in favor, none against.

If you vote in the poll, please post your thoughts on this here as well.

SaludaSecondus, everyone's favorite administrator, popped into the other TG notification topic, the one about pop-ups, and showed support for both ideas, mine and Erastide's. The only down side she noted was that this feature (Number in the sidebar) would involve refreshing the side bar much more often, meaning that the site would become a little harder to use for dial-up users. (Another reason to get DSL, right?) :D But anyway, Sal sai that she had made notes of both ideas.

Vote is now 5-0, in favor.

I love the idea, a missed a mass of telegrams at one point, through not realising I had new ones.

Anyway, thanks.

And now 10 to 2.

And, yes, I do this because I have nothing better to do with my time. :P

I don't know why I typed that, it was just a random thought. Sorry!

In my opinion, telegrams should be linked to forum accounts, in which you would click on a Private Message icon. Its what the other forums have.

I disagree, mainly because of the "forum validation" process....you should be able to use a nation in the game without having to validate it in the forum.
