Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong forum but it seemed like the most logical place to be. I've searched the forums for an answer to this problem and I can't seem to find one. A friend of mine went away on holiday and forgot to go on vacation mode and so his nation got deleted. He is very upset as he loved his region and the nationstates game and he was the one who got everyone else in our region involved in the game.

We followed the help on recovering a deleted nation and sent a message, but 18 days later nothing has happened. Can I just ask, how long would it normally take for someone to get back to us (I realise the people are volunteers and prob very busy but it would help to have a guide) and also if sending the message hasn't worked, is there any other way to get a nation back?

I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help us out as it just isn't the same anymore without our UN rep and founder.

I'd say try again...in my experience, the mods resurrect nations within 24 hours.

Yes, more than a week almost certainly means your request has been lost. (Or, possibly, denied, but you should be told if that's the case.)

Unless it was filed anonymously, in which case we have no way of notifying either way.

When you say posted anonymously - does your username automatically get added to a message or should I type it in? This may be the problem.

I think I will try again to get it resurrected. The only thing that concerns me is that there is no category in the subject box for resurrecting nations and it says that messages sent under the wrong category will be ignored. I worry that because I put it under 'other' it has been ignored.

The nation we are hoping to get resurrected is Furboolia by the way.

"other" is the correct category, though the mods don't even pay much attention to the category; the reason your request probably got lost is because there's sometimes a huge backlog.
