Extra commas in delegate votes

I notice an excess of commas:

Votes Against: 49: , Many Homosexual Lovers[3], , , Counterpoint[2], , Dave The Rave[5].

If I had to guess I'd say this might by caused be delegates changing their mind and a datastructure being used that doesn't allow proper removal. Not the best programming style...

That's what I've always thought, but I've never seen any hard evidence. It used to be that you'd see Delegates voting on both sides of a resolution, and I think that this was the fix.

It'd be nice if, *ahem*, someone, *ahem*, could confirm this...

Still happens - I posted a thread about it earlier today (for example, TheSkwunkie on the current resolution).

Yeah, it's essentially stupid code. For performance reasons there's a whole separate routine that manages the list of Delegate names and their voting decision, which is unconnected to the actual numerical tally of Delegate votes. The stupid code means sometimes this list gets out of whack -- which looks bad but isn't an indication of a problem in the actual votes.

Thanks for answering. It's nice to know the votes are being added up correctly.
