Possible Bug alert

I have found that when I visit the page of a moderator or admin, that their url remain in my url line even after I go to another page outside the forum. If I attempt to refresh, I am returned back to the country page of the visited mod or admin.

The only way I have to currently change the URL line is to:
1. Go to the forums and then return to the index page.
2. Manually enter the index URL into my URL line.

I think this is an issue of the framesets for mods and admins, as I dont have this issue with any other member pages.

Which links are you talking about, exactly.

I cant recall exactly which mods I have gone to look at, other than Myrths, that have caused this issue.

But as I said, once I open the country page of a mod nation, their URL remains in the address line of my browser, even when I click on other links in the other frames.

That's totally normal. The frameset URL tells it which page to display in the main frame when it loads, and, being a frameset URL, it doesn't go away afterwards.

No, it isnt normal.

The framesets for certain mod pages change the address line to the mods URL, and even when you click on other links, you cant get the main frameset link to go back into the address line.

However, I do think the bug only exists for people clicking on a moderator name if they are in the forums. I didnt have the error when searching for them and accessing from outside the forums.

Even once I click on my own country, this is what still shows in the URL...

That's what happens if you click on any nation from the forums. That's the link it gives you, nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=whatever. It's not a bug, it's simply the way the system works - if you click on a link with 'target=display_nation' in it, it will give you their nation with the menu frames around it, and keep that in the url no matter where you surf. If the link has 'page=display_nation' in it (which is what you get when searching from in the game), then that's just their nation page without the frames around it, and it will change if you surf somewhere else.

It's just how the game is set up with frames and the links from the forums...

*sigh* Yes it is, see below...

That happens for *any* nation.

It's not a bug/error, it's the only way you can control the initial pages in framesets. It doesn't happen outside of the forum because once the frameset is loaded links can change other frames without needing to set up the frameset.

The above answers are correct. It happens for all nations, and it isn't a bug.
