How does the leading industry thing work?

Does anyone have any links with information on how the game changes what industry types are leading your private sector? Does each industry have a number rating that determines the level of developedness of each industry (such as uranium mining having a rating of 50)?

THis has been asked before, and I tink that only admin and perhaps mods know.

Obviusly funding space industry supports IT for instance, but for the most part it's confusing. If there are number ratings for each thing, I'd certianly love to see it, but it's not in the XML feed.

The mods and admin "can neither confirm nor deny" that they love secrecy.

I suspect that the game does not use broad ranging numerical ratings. If it did then hurting the leading industry might hurt a country's economy more than normal. This doesn't seem to be the situation howerver; it seem that the industries can be switched in and out without much economic effect. The game probably has slots that are filled with each industry, with three usually being the top ones.

I have seen beef based agriculture disappear off the leading industries and be replaced by the cheese exporting industry due to the animal event. The auto industry doesn't seem to be affected by the tariff issue. The rainforest issue probably affects the uranium mining industry, military spending possibly affects arms manufacturing, censorship events probably affect book publishing. Gambling is affected by that issue with the choice to ban it or encourage it.

I never understood what might influence Furniture Restoration.

There's a couple that do, but not too many. About as many as affect Basket Weaving.

Actually, the formulas used to calculate your Economy ranking and individual industry rankings are reasonably complex, but logical. It's pretty neat, really.

I can neither confirm nor deny that we cannot confirm nor deny that we love secrecy.

Trying to get any information from you guys that you don't want to divulge is impossible unless we can get you to make a statement. Then the correct answer will probably be the opposite.

actualy very little appears even remotely belivably close to logical
to me, of course i may not apear so to the mods or game designers either.
