Auto-forward telegrams

Suggestion for add-on: Auto forward telegrams.

You could have a single nation to whom all your telegrams are automaticly forwarded. This would allow you to funnel all tms sent to a puppet to your main nation (or a primary puppet). I say single nation because having a list would facilitate spamming (someone sets a puppet to forward all Telegrams to a list of people, and then spams out that puppet.), however having just one forward address would let you manage puppets and could be used for a vast information chain, where regions or even interregional alliances could transmit instructions via a long chain of people who wanted the info, even if the nations weren't online.

Comments? Problems?

A few points...

1. You could still spam out a third party this way. Only one at a time, granted, but people would just end up forwarding to their favorite enemy (Francos Spain, whoever... probably at least a couple dozen people picking FS).

2. Along that line, I'd hate to be at the end of a forward string of mostly UN nations around the time a resolution passes...

3. There would also need to be some kind of check to prevent chains that look like A->B->C->D->A and make the server emit Magic Smoke...

How about to prevent spamming you don't just set the nation to forward it's telegrams, you also have to set the receiving nation to accept them

Elaborate.

2. Along that line, I'd hate to be at the end of a forward string of mostly UN nations around the time a resolution passes... :shock:True. But if a group of UN players were so inclined, they could make a chain to tell each other about resolutions worth endorsing.

3. There would also need to be some kind of check to prevent chains that look like A->B->C->D->A and make the server emit Magic Smoke...Yeah, that'd be a lethal one.

I like this idea. It would be absolutely brilliant for puppets, since I am always checking puppets to find, oh, 27-day-old telegrams that needed to be dealt with, well, 27 days ago... as for the problems proposed with this, NuMetal's suggestion is very good. You'd have to accept someone asking to forward telegrams to you.

Excellent idea.

waits for sal to come by and claim theres too much coding involved... or that nothing happening until the server move... which isn't coming until august...

Hmm. No, you're right. My mistake. It wouldn't be any different. *thwacks self*

Yeah. I'm not saying it wouldn't be extremely useful in cases, just that the downsides could get pretty ugly.

I'm all out for it, this is a good idea, IMO. Like Goober said, I'm (just) posting to add one more voice to the support list.

I have oft suggested a similar thing, a method of emialing your telegrams to your email address if you want, and believe me, as a pacific D, it woudl be handy

Hey, cool, this isn't a completely stupid idea.

Other use: natives can chain up to make password giving easier.
