I thought I remembered seeing that the NS roleplaying on the forums was supposed to be separate from the development of your country. However, my country has gone from having its industry dominated by Book Publishing to having it dominated by Arms Manufacturing, which suggests to me that my NS roleplaying has more of an affect on my country than I thought it would or should.

No, too my knowledge, it does not. However, the UN will, if you are a member. Otherwise, it's just the issues.

Roleplaying in the forums will do nothing to your nation. On the other hand, it could psychologically put you in a more war-like mood, encouraging you to put more money into your military. Hey, it happened to me anyway.
