Okay, I understand that this game is role-play, but just how do I go about making my country better? My friend tells me that I need to manufacture stuff to get richer, but what? I dont understand...can someone help me or point me to a thread that can?

Issues will come up (1-2/day depending on how you have your nation set) each day with a set of choices on how your nation wants to handle them. The choices you make determines how your nation's description changes over time. There is no direct way to choose what your nation manufactures, what your crime rate will be like, how much political freedom your people have, etc. The way you go through the issues will determine how those things are shaped over time.
