Nations that are dead...

Is there anyway for a moderator to tell for how long a nation has been dead?
Also, if a nation has been dead for quite a while would it be possible for someone to eventually take that nation? Or would it just be dead forever, laughing at someone like me who would actually use it?
BTW, to the owner of Terra Atlantica, if you are reading this please give me your password since it's obvious you are not using your nation anymore.
(Hehehehe, I sent a request for that nation to be revived as well.)
The names of dead nations never become available again.

So what is the purpose of reviving nations?
Not being sarcastic, I just don't know.

I myself am a resurrected or 'revived' nation. I left in May and I came back in November. Things like this happen. I'd hate to see Nanakaland fall in the hands of a n00b. Your issue has come up dozens of times in Technical and the answer is always NO. Perhaps there should be a sticky clarifying stuff that have already been decided to stop repetativeness....

A good point.
If only there was a way to tell which nations were coming back and which weren't.

Well, you could always check obituaries...

People would still ignore stickies if they were new to the game that explained all the stuff that was already decided upon by the moderators.
:D
I looked for this issue in the FAQ's and the sticky about reviving nations, but I didn't really see my issue come up.
Needless to say, if one sticky was made that clearly explained such things I would've read it, so there is at least one.

At least it would be something to link to. That way, we wouldn't waste valuable time.
