Search to be restored with switch to Jolt?
Onip's question, and my subsequent response to it raised the question in my mind: Will the full functioning search feature be restored after the switch to Jolt?

Within April 3rd and 30th.
Just remember, Max said that the site would be down for a few days while they switch servers.

That is scary!!!
Suddenly 100000 people sit up from their computers and go outside for the first time in months. The world is shocked by their pale skin, and poor odor. President George Bush requests that nationstates be brought back online! "My fellow americans, It is a shame and a crime that Nationstates is down while they upgrade. Please shower regularly until they return the servers to normal. Thank you!"
Ahh...........I don't know if I'll survive......oh well
It'll be worth it

Two------------ whole------------ days ------------?------------ :o :(
Seriously though, will the profile section be restored as well?
Will the posts be reindexed, or will the search database just be re-enabled and allowed to build up from posts made after the move?

I honestly don't know. I'm not doing that part. We will be using the standard phpBB to vB 3 importer.

I've checked on the vBulletin site and there is a function built in to rebuild the search index. In my experience (at least with phpbb2) it can be a very resource consuming exercise, but I should think it's fairly safe to assume Jolt's forum server would be capable of doing it reasonably quickly at an off-peak time. Downtime isn't usually necessary.

Interact with the Sims you see through your window? They called "real people" and they are quite amusing. Well most of them.
