First off,

This "joke", or what it has been speculated to be, has not been very funny at all. It has fretted many Nations, pretty much all of them RP ones. And First of all, it has broken the Aprils Fools Day joke - all jokes past 12 O clock are on you: So the jokes on you!

Second off,

If this ISNT a joke, then I have something to say, as a frequent NS RP'er and NS fan.

I assure you, this does NOT ensure a "level playing field" This has taken some fun out of RP'ing, because there is no way to prove that your nation is however size. Alliances now depend upon the number of nations in the alliance {And for us Left-wings - thats bad}. Why reset it? All websites and games have bugs.

I remember when I passed 500 Million - I was eager to think up my pretitle. And when I passed 1 Billion Mark, I remember when I sent my fleet into space. All that, all those memories have just been erased, by giving me and other experience and old RP'ers the n00b status - we are statswise the same as all these new people. Now, I will have to wait painstakingly, ever day, for my Popn to go up 1-5 Million a day - twenty odd days for one hundred million - a hundred odd days for five million, and near on ANOTHER year for me to reach my old status, when I should be 2 Billion by then, and reserve my status and Power.

This is the ramblings of an irritated, extremely irritated NS fan. However, I would at least like a response.

The sudden loss of roughly 175 million people in my nation has scared and confused me and I'm sure many others. Hold me.

I am hoping that this is just a joke on NationStates part. I was finally nearing the 600 million mark in my population and I hope I don't have to wait to get there again.

interesting how all consequences of population remain constant - i'm still ranked 7000th or something in the world for woodchipping, even though i'm only 5 mil. but yeah, resetting everything to 5 mil? not cool. as an april fool's joke? eh...there could've been a better one, but whatever.

Agreed. If this is a joke it ain't the funniest in the world, since my initial reaction was "What in God's name has happened to 850 million people..."
