A question about the forum

I just wanted to know what actions have been taken to fix the forum problems? Also, is there anything I could do to help, put my two cents ins.

The underlying code has already had several tweaks, and it's a lot better than it was.
However, this will soon all be irrelevant as NationStates moves to a new server, hosted by www.jolt.co.uk

I wish I knew, but it will be soon.

Wel I'm glad we are moving servers because this one is not good. So what will happen during the server move? Will the Forum be inaccessible, will our post counts get reset? What happens during a server switch?

In all likelyhood NS (game and forums) will be shut down for a day (or two, but don't quote me on this), afterwards the entire site will be back up and running (with improvements) over at Jolt. Your post counts will remain the same, and nothing will be reset.

Actually, Hack once told me in a thread in Moderation that our post count and founding date may be reset, Sal?

That was a concern, yes, but Sal's got a better handle on the technical aspects of the move than I do. If he says they won't change, I'd take his word over mine.

Post counts will stay the same (I think), though I would actually expect founding dates to be reset, but the truth is, I don't know. I'm not directly involved in the forum transfer. I'm directly involved in the Game Transfer.

I take it, by the end of the year...

Well fortunately I am blessed with a much faster than average connection so the forum doesn't hurt me as bad as others. But it does still get really bad.
