there are alot of non-serious chat topics in the general forum, and an equal number of serious political topics. splitting the two into two differnent forums might help with the lag and other problems. one for just chatting and word games and such could be called lounge, or something; while the other could be called current events. admin. please think about this and tell me if its a good idea or not.

I dont think theyre gonna go for it...

I dont think Sal, or Violet want to do the programming.

Cant say I blame em.

Thats kinda the point of the general forum anyway.

Creating a forum isn't hard - it just involves filling in a few fields in the admin control panel.
Also, Sal can't add/edit forums. Only [reploidproductions] and [violet] can do that.

The serious political topics you speak of are all the same stuff. Homosexuals, Gun Control, Iraq War. They should have their own dang forums if anything. Too many threads about them, I don't call that serious.

Remember guys, we're moving servers shortly, and will be integrating with Jolt. Just wait and see before you start asking for new forums, there will be plenty.

It has been suggested since the beginning of time. Sadly, there is too much overlap to make the idea practical. If people could actually discuss any serious issue without turning it into the usual personal one-upmanship contests, maybe it would be worth doing. The fact is, serious discussion topics make up a tiny fraction of the General Forum's activity. If they had a forum to themselves, no-one would even bother looking. Then you literally would be left with a "Lounge" forum full of spam, and nothing to redeem it.

How about three forums?

General
This forum stays and is used for misc topics.

Fun
This forum is for non-serious topics.

Debating Corner
This forum is for political/spiritual debates.

Fun = Spam.

At least with General we can pretend something other than spam goes on there.

Here, how about this:

We will ignore all discussion of forum organization until after we move to Jolt.

IWill ignore all discussion of forum organizatoin that is posted before we move to Jolt. No matter when I read it.

All of these discussions are irrelevant until we move and integrate with the new forums. Jolt has forums galour. We'll be fine.

When are we going to move, anyways. I have an idea I've been waiting to post for months.
