Idea: Founded Date

TROUSRS

I think it would be nice to have the date that a region was founded somewhere on the region's page. That way, players can see how long one specific region has lasted.

Just a thought.

Yes, I like that idea as well, although I assume that if it were implemented, it would only take effect for new regions

Well it already is on the forums if you click on the nation, not much point putting it on the nation page. Besides you can see how long a nation has been around by it's population anyway, right.

I dont think you read through the post very thoroughly, it talks about regions not nations

I personally thing that a link to this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=29968) page for each nation would be just fine-- shows posts too, and lets you quickly search for their posts.

This suggestion pertains to regions although in my case it's the same for me and my region, but thats not the point.

you know that is actually a good idea,
I know the found dates for all my regions if they get added to them.

And instead of sorting the regions by the number of 0s in their names, you could do it by dates.

There is a reason (other then that Sal and the admins are lazy) that there is only alpha sorting: The game data is stored in a way thats easy to alpha sort, but hard to sort other ways.

Now, if they take the time to convert to a MySQL database during the move to Jolt (please say your doing this), then it's a lot more possible. Or at least it becomes the fault of lazy people now instead of lazy people a year and a half ago ... ;)

No significant backend changes are being performed during the move. Lots of minor tweaks, but the underlying structure is remaining the same.

There'll never be a better time, though. Oh well.
