I was responding to the following post by Confused States:
Is "Fallopian Tube" pushing the allowable name line too far?
Also look at the national critter, seems a bit edgy too

And made the following Comment:
Well, it's well over 2 billion, it's clearly been around for a long while. And there is a @@RANDOMNAME@@ last name "Fallopian"

If you look at the national critter "stupid incompetent driving test examiner" it is 40 charecters long, far longer than the 22 charecter maximum for animals. Either the charcter limits were installed more recently, or it's a mod puppet.

I then observed that FT had been booted as a UN multi, and thus could not have been a mod puppet or Max Barry. I promptly deleted m post sinc it is now strictly in the realm of the Technical.

So my question is: Were the charecter limits in some or all of the fields formerly longer, or did some of the fields not have charecter limits, or was this a bug like the pretitles before [violet] fixed it then made them availble to 500 million+ pop nations.

If the first one, how much longer, if any of them, which fields and when?

Yes at one time there were no character limits on the text fields and if you knew what you were doing you coauld add a whole additional paragraph about your nation by typing a carrige return after you typed in your currency and then typing your paragraph.]

Hypothetically, couldn't you add several paragraphs then Loopie?

When did this Era end?

Also, was there no limit on nation names or was it longer?

And could you use HTML then in fields?

Hmm! That's really interesting.... I tried saving the file and deleting the maxlimit (or whatever the tag was) but adding a carriage return only gave me I should have checked it out when I changed my nation title when the bug was still around! :(

Yeah, you could add more paragraphs, but I think Max would have HTML screened out for security reasons.

it was changed around late april early may last year if I recall.
about the same time the original hack for custom pretitles ended.
