Babylon X and other strange redirects

I've been having a strange problem. When the forums server is down, occassionally when I try to login or change a page on my nation it opens up a completely unrelated site. Last night it was for some graphics company and just now it was Babylon X, the porn site...
Anyways, any ideas on what might be causing this?
Win98SE/IE6.0/Primus.

It seems, for the most part, to be too odd for it to be adware trying to advertise. Well, that and I'm certain I have no adware as I'm super uptight about downloading freeware.
The most recent time something weird happened the server gave me a 500 error from this website.

Even on super-careful computers, Adware infests. Trust me, check your computer for it.
I know that sometimes adware will overwrite the default 404 page with a different one, or a rotating system.

I checked my computer, just some cookies and stuff and the Windows Media Player dataminer, nothing that can be considered particularily bad.

It just sent me to www.nuklearpower.com, I think I've figured it out, it's sending me to other pages I've been to, or to other things on their servers...
That's the only thing I can come up with.

um, check taht you havent got a toolbar from anywhere (rigt clcik up the top of you IE window, in that favourites/home/stop/back/forward etc toolbar. If there is any strange tolbars listed there, un install them.
I have had preblems like thhis from several sites.
