Let's face it, this board loads slow.

INCREDIBLY slow.

I have broadband and half the time I can't get in here.

While I'm sure this is at least partly due to the number of people who use it, it probably also has to do with the sheer amount of posts archived.

Therefore, I propose giving people a week or two to archive anything they need to, and then delete anything over a month or so old (and repeat this every 6 months or so). Hopefully that'll speed things up a bit.

If I'm wrong about the posts being one of the causes of the slowdown, then I withdraw my suggestion. All I know about php is that it generates a lot of stuff 'on the fly' =P

I think so too. The real reason it is so slow is that TONS of nations are always on, and the server is not thatr big so it gets bogged down. We are expecting a new server I think, but we must remember this is a free site so Max himself has to pay for that server...
