NationStates Jolt Archive

As has been mentioned in the news, and discussed at length in the forums, recently, several (ex-)users of NS have stolen several accounts by exploiting a flaw in Pro-Boards. Once again, I want to emphasize that at no point was NationStates actually hacked.

However, we are still trying to clean up the mess that they made. If you think that you had an account stolen by these people, please post here (with a puppet, of course) the name of the stolen nation. If you do not want to reveal that you control the other nation, please post a message saying so here, and I will contact you separately.

I cannot promise that I can return your nations, but I will try.

P.P.S. If ANYONE makes any posts here besides to say that they had an account stolen, I will be most displeased. Their post will be removed, and they will be warned. If this is a second warning, they may be deleted. This thread is only to report stolen nations.

I lost Spazzers to the hijackers. I lost it in a trade to get this nation back. It is now deat, when earlier today you guys thankfully IP banned him and deated all his nations.

Also, Grazon belongs to Faxlandu.

And Toored belongs to Mofia Hitman.

Both the nations, Grazon and Toored were stolen and are now deat. I will tell them to post here. Thx.

Oh yeah, and the nation Asposie too. Also deat. I will tell that person too post here also.

I lost these to hijackers a long time ago im not sure if it was them but it could be cause lady was a admin at my forum. Can i get them back? Cause the password was changedd and so was the email.

Sadly I must report The Famed Republic of The Almighty Dinar - much beloved by it's neighbors - has been deleted. This is the second nation I have had "lost" by parties & for reasons unknown.

I lost my main nation, Disciples of Rand, in the original "heist". So I understand the deletion. However, I'd like to say that I got it back, and so I'd appreciate its swift resurrection.

That was deleted months ago and was unrelated.

#2 The Anti-Commi Clan got deated... And I am not sure why. I think it had to do with school comps... Is there a mod in particular I can talk to that did the deletions? I sent something to the getting help page but no response...

I got hacked but never used an offsite forum or anything like that.

My region, federation of trabia, has been hacked and stolen
from me. He hacked in, rejected me and my UN delagate, and
put a password on my region. My main nation, which i
founded the region with, was Laosing. He recently stole
that too, a few hours ago. All this has happened today. I
alerted moderators but i have no idea when ill hear back.
Right now I have a nation, Final Fantasy haven, that can be contacted. It may be stolen too though. Heres the whole
story in its order of events.

4 or 5 days ago- I start my region, federation of Trabia,
and work to get ppl to join. Because of my interest in
Final Fantasy, I decided I would ask them as well as some
of my friends to join. The response was good and yesterday
i had 25 nations.

2 days ago- Ppl in Final Fantasy region (FF) started to get
angry cuz about 10 ppl had left them and come to my region.
They posted negative messages about my region.

Yesterday- Everything was running fine, but due to the
unrest in FF i decided to make a nation that i could put in
there so i could monitor them and have access to the
message board if i needed it.

Today- It started when a nation formed called "Anti-Trabia"
and they moved to FF. they are qouted here:

They then proceeded to hack into my region under my nations
name, reject me and my delegate Cruchy, and put a password
on my region. Luckily I had another nation still in the
region called "Final Fantasy Haven". I alerted all the
members of FOT that it was not me who had done this. Later
on, they changed the password again and changfed the
factbook to:

World Factbook Entry: The Federation of Trabia is now under
the control and ownership of Final Fantasy.

I was very mad that they had hacked and stolen my region,
but I still had my nation Laosing. NOT FOR LONG.....
They then hacked my nation from the rejected realms and
stole it as well, and changed the motto to "I surrender to
anti-Trabia". I now have my nation in FF region and a
seperate nation "Final Fantasy Haven" in the rejected
realms. Im left with no power, no region, and I feel
violated. He then has the nerve to send me a message from
my stolen nation:

Hello, and grettings from the best nation on earth. You
will find that I am much more powerful than your "law".
Enjoy your stay in the Rejected Realms.

This really steamed my clams!!!! I want action and want to
know if he could have hacked further into my computer. I
want my nation and region back. I would also like to thank
The CDM Cofee drinking Emirate of the Isle of Orleans for
all his help and advice with this situation. Please
moderators, do something to stop this.

Created a new nation just last week.

Now I cannot access it at all.
My password won't work.
and I can't even request a new one due to my e-mail is not being accepted either. I've been blocked because I tried so many different methods thinking I had put in the wrong e-mail. But I know I didn't.
Too bad, because it was a nice little nation , and I was just learning how the game worked. :x How many times will I have to do this in order to get fully involved? Bummer.

I have also recently been hijacked, i cannot now access my main nation Etheldene Avenue. I am however suspicious of the nation Pumbo who has caused me problems in the past. As soon as I was hacked he moved back into my region.

It sounds to me like they are using an exploit int the CGI to gain access to a nation. I will play around and see if maybe I can gain access to someones nation. I know I don't work with NationStates, but I think its a good idea to help them discover exploits :)

right this is a long story but here it goes

ive being playing this for several weeks and i didnt break any rules i checked to make sure i did but i hadnt and my 3 nations Holy Norton, Non Holy Norton and Great Austria Hungary were all stolen my freinds think it might be the moderaters

but why i didnt do anything wrong only non holy norton was in the UN and my nations were stolen ammediatly after non holy norton became UN Delegate for a region and i created another nation to log this complaint and that was stolen so i had to create the current nation im using

i heard there is an appeal process but how am i supposed to get my nations back, admittedly i dont mind if i get back non holy norton and great austria hungary all i want back is Holy Norton as it is my biggest and best nation adn was the first nation i created so has sentimental value

First, I'd like to appologize for the length of time in getting back to you. This was a difficult job, and took much time, unfortunately, I was able to help but few of you.

In practically every case here, someone was either not careful enough with their password, or left their account on auto-login with a public computer. If you lose your nation this way, there is little I can do.

Therefore, I am locking this thread. If you have not regained your nation, I'm sorry.
