Actually, I'm not - but I am (U)old(/u), and I only faced my first pc in 2002 & am completely self-taught, so I reckon you ought to indulge me a little if I'm about to break every rule in the book ...
I've read as many stickies as RL demands on my time, and the vagaries of the NS server will allow; there are still questions I want to check out the answers to, and I (U)think(/U) that the Tech forum is the right place now I've read the "Read here first or turn into a custard pie" stickie ...
(1) Is there a way to search for TEXT rather than AUTHOR? I followed the link in the stickie to see if there was a site search engine and I was really hacked off to find it wouldn't work unless I wanted to find someone rather than something. e.g I could have typed in "definitions" and hoped it'd lead to an answer for Q2
(2) Where, if anywhere, can I find a list of translations for abbreviations? Some like RL or RP were relatively easy to work out, but others - eg DEAT - I can't understand either by context or by asking google or Matisse's Glossary of Internet Terms. If there ain't an "Idiots' Guide To" type of list, please could someone do one?
I expect I've forgotten lots I meant to ask, but may as well find out first if I chose right in using the Tech forum in the first place ... :?
