Regional Flags

Although I doubt I'm the first one to think of this, I thought of it none the less the other day.

What would it take to give the Regional Founder or perhaps the delegate the power to upload (or hopefully just link so we don't have file size restrictions) a regional flag, and then have it posted somewhere near your region's title?

Perhaps make them a bit larger than nation flags as well...

One of the idea's in Sal's hat is BBCode in regional factbooks...
That would include URLs.

Or even HTML...

I doubt it would be that hard...

Myself, Myrth, I think even Marathon suggested this. would be really nice, we actually have a thread on the EP forum to discuss a regional flag,

as for size, I assume you mean maby make them 8 to 12 k, as my flag right now is three times larger than the standard.
(I make 300x200 wheras the default is 107x71, I just scaled it up twice)

I've already asked this query, and got a resounding No from Salusa And Nutty.

The UN isn't to be used for technical changes in the game.

Submitting a proposal that proposes changes to the game are deleted and may get you booted from the UN.

 No. Trust me, you do not want HTML in a custom field on a region page. Really. No way. BBCode would be a far safer option.

I did ask about regional flags when I started out, but it is something that would require careful work, more server space, and dealing with a new type of game offence. So far, it has been the case that it would be too much trouble.

I can see excellent opportunities in using regional flags

Agreed. Definitly. Attacks would be so simple with html. Btw, I'm all for bbcode support for region description :)

Well, if you delete the flags along with a dead regions, you end up (in the worst case) with double the number of flags (and hopefully a lot less). Furthermore, you could make a limitation (like not being able to create a flag for a region with less than X nations). So my guess is the extra space would end up being marginal.
As for coding, the flag upload code is already there, so it's just a question of an extra table and some copy/paste/replace operations.
