When the server swallows threads...
You know when the server swallows a thread for a while and spits it out a bit later? I have a couple of questions regarding this annoying, but at the same time pretty cool phenomena:
1. How long time approximately does it take before the thread appears again?
2. Is there a way to find a thread inspite of the server's disappering trick?

2: Copy the thread URL ( http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=122910 ) of important topics to a text editor, and manually past it in your address bar.
1. Do they all reappear?
Aha, keeping a log of threads. Not a bad idea.
Yes, I think they all reappear. I haven't heard about cases where they don't.

I haven't heard about cases where they don't.
And you don't consider a conspiracy of silence to be a real possibity?
My dear Big mad Vikings, you're just not sufficiently paranoid.

Of course. But the thread I had in mind is probably the least provocative around here, unless some X-rays are regarded obscene... I don't think this thread was deleted. That wouldn't make sense at all.
There is nothing wrong with my paranoia, I keep it well fed...

Well, one thread did disappear a while back, and we haven’t seen it since. A sticky at that. It was, nonetheless, replaced by a better and up to date version written by myself.
Really? Huh. Maybe I should just restart it tomorrow if it hasn't showed up by then.
