I just posted something in a topic called Medieval Fantasy RP started by Elendrium a few minutes ago, but when I tried to delete a double post, it said that either the post or topic was nonexistent...

PLEASE HELP

** Warning: Speculation **

I've noticed problems with the time/date stamp being corrupted due to server lag. This creates a date stamp of 8:00 AM on some date in 1969. When this happens, the topic in question seems to drop off the face of the earth.

I have been able to use a workaround. When I create a topic or have something I'm interested in following, I make a note of the ViewTopic URL:
http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=121212

That seems to go directly to the topic regardless of corruption, and then a simple post brings it back to the front page. Also, having the direct link seems to bypass some of the server lag issues, as it doesn't have to search several tables to find the correct topic/post

It's important to use the link with the [b]topic information (t=121212) rather than the post information (p=2698129) because you can't count on the Post information being correct.

I realize this doesn't help in your current situation (and I've searched under your name and Elendrium for the missing RP, with no luck), but perhaps it will help in the future.

sorry if the person above already answered this

my sister is screaming making it hard for me to read :-|

if you saw the page that looked something like:

"are you sure you want to delete this post"

and were able to check and click yes

then if you saw a page that reads:

"no posts exist in this topic"

then the reason is most likely the fact that durring times of serious lag, people will send through a message that will disapear but will still add to thread post count

then when the post does go through it will be post.. maybe 13 when the board thinks it's actually 26

thus it could foward you to page 2 to read your post when there is nothing on page two.. thus you get a "no posts exist in this topic" message

:-|

yeah my brains broken

if the first page still exists then I would find my way to the last page that still has posts and go back to it whenever you post untill finally a real new page is made
