Question on Populations

Now, this may have already been asked before, but I rarely pay attention to the board, so please forgive me.

Why is is a corporate police state grows at the same rate as civil rights lovefest? Democractic Socialism as Father knows Best state?

I think that some responses on the questions should have a cost/tradeoff in these lines, as they do with some taxes and such.

An example, China:

Uses governmental regulation on having children, lowering birth rate. However, economy improves as does health standards.

It would make things mroe interesting, as people have to trade-off manpower for health care, soldiers int he military for taxes, etc.

A utopia doesnt come cheap, and there must be something lost in the process.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it.

*shrugs* That's simply the way the game's coded. I imagine it would be too much work to vary population according to issues and stats.

I rather like the present system of population as an indicator of how old a nation is.
