Help/Advice Wanted - News Stories Dying!

Dear Mods,

Can you perhaps advise me on how best to maintain my story archives - I've got a thread with links to the original threads themselves, but some of the links are dying!!

I've already lost most of the stories written for the abortive Melkor slap-down, and would appreciate some advice on how to maintain what I can salvage (I don't tend to keep copies - fool that I am!!).

Should I start a thread and repost all of the stories that I can get to, and just add them as they get published (a sort of archive thread)?

Any other ideas?

Any ideas on how to recover the old now-zapped threads?

1. there is this archive forum

... Which makes it read-only, which is the point of an Archive.
