Has there been a post count purge?

I was just wondering if there has recently been a post count purge as my posts seem to have dropped by about a 100, compared to what they were the last time I logged on (Monday and I was on 8,923 posts).

If there was, General is gonna be angry. I do know that threads are deleted after they're 2 months old, maybe it was a big thread (Like the volcano) that was deleted? :?

Hmm, you could be right. I did post a lot in those threads in my early days.

I lost quite a few posts as well. Hopefully the volcano threads won't be around for much longer if they clog up the server this much.

I haven't posted in general in a long while.. I haven't noticed anything anyway. I don't really keep track.

I don't think my postcount has lowered. Besides, postcount doesn't matter. Anyway, as far as the server goes. It gives me errors as often as usual so if it has sped up I haven't noticed.

The largest collection of topics ever on NS, started by myself. It was a club, a place people could go and hang out with their friends. It involved a bit of RPing. It was a collection, because after it reached 65 pages it had to be locked, because of the rule of "65 pages equals a lock".

I met the love of my life there, had a lot of fun, and made a lot of friends. I ended the volcano a while back because it was growing unpopular, and I was tired of reciving telegrams about how much the volcano sucked.

Hope that helps. :)

I swear that the Volcano was locked before two months ago, though.

Are you sure that 65 pages constitutes a lock? Cause Unum Veritas's naval storefront is on page 69, I believe...

The 65-page Lock rule only applies to the General forum.

I don't see why that is. It should be applied to all forums equally.

It could be one of the other volcano threads. Unless you mean "More then two months ago" ... "before" is kinda confusing me ...

I mean that the last ever Volcano was locked, by the mods, over two months ago.

Well, I do notice the forum is running a bit more smoothly latley, so I'll take it. :)

Yes, I agree. The forum has/is running more smoothly than last week or the week before (they were dire, IMO).

To the best of my knowledge there has not been a purge recently (of course, I'm not told about everything).

Not really. I went down to page 300 or so of General and removed some old threads. Most of them were threads that were locked for content (as opposed to having reached 65 pages), and a couple of those had gone on for awhile before being closed.

Also, there was a word-game thread that was deleted per General Forum rules.

That could've been the reason why my post count dropped. I used to post a lot in those type of threads.

Well, yes, they are functioning very well. Normally at around this time I can't get on....but I wouldn't say it's a reasonable time though.
