Leadership for Lazarus

I recently noticed that Lazarus has become a pretty large region. So I was thinking, is there a reason that Lazarus shouldn't get a delegate? The RR has one, and The Pacifics have a delegate and regional control (although no password). Couldn't we allow that to happen in Lazarus as well?

I await any comments on this idea.

*shrugs* Lazarus can have a delegate just fine, it's only that access to regional controls is disabled.

I tried, once, to get natives interested in the region in any form whatsoever... it didn't work.

Curiousity compelled me to look:

4 nations of 132 have UN memberships
None have any endorsements

Are endorsements turned off in the region due to lack of delegate status, or is it simple apathy?

No, endorsements aren't turned off! I guess that's a kind of persistent myth about Lazarus, but it's definitely possible to become delegate just like in any other region.

It's complete and total apathy. No native there really cares.

You could always give your endorsements to me ... granted I'd have no idea of what to do with them, but they'd look pretty on my display thingy.

Well, you'd become the UN delegate, who gets to do fun stuff, read the FAQ for more info.

Although posting that here will not get you endorsements from those natives... even telegramming them doesn't do that.

PS... I speak from experience...LOL!

For all that it is worth, as pupprtmaster of Zab, 15th most senior nation in Lazarus, and stager of a couple attempts to organize it, I can say that generally these attempts fal or meet with a mass egress. I would stil support further attempts at organization.

If so many people are interested in seeing it happen, you could just "invade" ... it'd only take two people.

The people of Lazurus could wait them out. They're patient, having seen beyond death already. :)

The problem is that alot of the residents there are revived and then just never log on again, most of those who get a nation reveived and don't let it die again move it to somewhere else

I would send my U.N nation but it is delegate, it would be fun though anyone got a spare U.N nation and wants to be delegate?

I was once the delegate for Lazarus. I could always go back and become a delegate if it was needed.

I thought endorsements in Lazarus had a tendancy to disappear...?

Form what I have sen this is caused by 2 factors:

Revived ex-UN nations joined the UN and several former endorses had died.
The endorser leaves.

This talk is disturbing the peace of the tombs. What use would a delegate be since (1) regional control is disabled, (2) it would never have more than four endorsements and actually would be lucky if it got one and thus, could not even be a significant force in the UN, (3) it could never keep its endorsements since the UN nations either eventually leave or re-die (is that a word -- can't think of what else since many have been resurrected). I say, leave the undead undisturbed.

I have a question who controls Testlandia? :?
Unfree People

Kaskalherria, the same attitude could just as easily be applied to any of the feeders, especially the Rejected Realms. Who wants a realm full of n00bs? Of rejects? Especially when you don't have access to full regional controls? It's all about turning an otherwise sad unfriendly region into a benefit to the game as a while ;)

Uhm - I have heard that it is an admin puppet. The only thing I know about it is that its motto changes around and whoever controls it has a sense of humor.

Edit: did a bit of digging and found my source: The SLAGlands. [15:40] <Unfree_People> Who is Testlandia anyway Slag?
[15:40] <Unfree_People> shouldnt you know?
[15:41] <SlagdorThePhoneinator> Testlandia is a site administrator.

Admin?

Makes sense.

I'd always assumed that it was a mod puppet, either Reploid's Sal's or shared.

(1) regional control is disabled, Being a delegate isn't all about having power of the regional controls. I've been a delegate for almost 4 months and I've only changed the WFB a couple times (and passworded the region once). I'd assume that the mods wouldn't want any delegates passwording the region, anyway, and WFB isn't too important in an inactive region.(2) it would never have more than four endorsements and actually would be lucky if it got one and thus, could not even be a significant force in the UN, They could still endorse proposals. Once again, Delegateship isn't all about the UN either. It'd be cool just to have your name up there in a region that serves a specific ingame purpose.(3) it could never keep its endorsements since the UN nations either eventually leave or re-die (is that a word -- can't think of what else since many have been resurrected). I say, leave the undead undisturbed.True, it'd take a lot of work and a bit of luck to stay delegate (although not for the same reasons as the other feaders).

Wait, isn't Slaggy "BarryBodyguard"? :?

Spelleth not the names of the admin in vain.

Mantle was never an admin, he was a forum mod, Grated Cheese's mod nation, and he did leave NS.

Yes. BodyguardBarry, Slaggy, Oz, it's all the same. Anyway, that was him. So until we get a more definite answer, I'm plugging for it being [violet], as Testlandia does log in every now and then, and [dredd] is gone-ish.

Really?

<TheSLAGLands> All righty, we got this fine young stud Kaenei here with a question.
<TheSLAGLands> Kaenei wants to know what Max would do if he was not an author.
<MaxBarry> Hmm... well, practically I guess I would be selling computers for Hewlett-Packard, or doing something else in sales and marketing
<MaxBarry> since that's my background
<MaxBarry> But maybe I would be coding weird web games :)
* Karmabaijan ughs at HP :)
<[violet]> So you'd still have a need for myself?
<[dredd]> And me?
<MaxBarry> I've always enjoyed writing, and enjoyed making up games -- I've been lucky enough to have success in both of those fields
<MaxBarry> I think if I couldn't be a writer I would get more into coding games
